Ministerial Transition Update – March 7, 2012

Posted on Mar 8, 2012 in Uncategorized | Comments Off

As discussed at the February Forum, the various committees most closely involved with the Ministerial Transition will communicate with the Congregation regularly. This is the first of these updates. Please feel free to contact Standing Committee co-chairs Kristina Lentz or Dave Gallogly with any questions or clarifications.

  • At the February Standing Committee meeting, the Committee voted to advertise for a 3/4 time minister. This is an increase to our current arrangement of 2/3 time. This increase is a reflection of the growth and strength of our congregation. We are confident we will be able to successfully address the increased impact on the budget and pledge drive this will require.
  • The Nominating Committee for the Search Committee for the Permanent Minister is actively seeking nominations. A brief application has been created to help manage the process. If you are interested in an application, please contact one of the Committee members: Carol Thomas, Bev Hope, or Tori Hatch.
  • On April 15, Laura Graham, our Settlement Representative from the Mass Bay District will lead our service and conduct a special session for interested community members after church. Congregational Transitions is her area of expertise, and she looks forward to being with us to begin the process of exploring how we can think about the experience of change and transition, and our community’s values and goals. In the post-service session, she will provide more details about the logistical aspects of the permanent minister search.
  • The Farewell Committee has a few spots left for interested individuals to celebrate Lilli’s ministry at TPC. Please contact Kristina Lentz if you are interested in participating.
