The Religious Exploration program would like to introduce you to our new childcare providers who will be working in the nursery with children ages 0-4 years old during Sunday services.

Mahajoy Laufer will be our primary caregiver. Along with being a social worker at the Home for Little Wanderers since 2012, Mahajoy and her partner Misty run a babysitting business called Just Care:Exceptional Babysitting with a Social Justice Focus.  JustCare believes that young people can enrich their knowledge, empathy, and responsibility towards themselves and others through multicultural and environmental awareness.  Mahajoy has great ideas on how to integrate these beliefs into our R.E. program with our youngest members.  She brings over 15 years of childcare experience and will be a terrific asset to TPC.  To learn more about Mahajoy and her business visit her website (http://Justcare.biz).

Cassidy Swanson will be one of our substitute caregivers.  She is originally from South Kingstown, RI, and now lives in West Roxbury. She is currently a graduate student at Emerson College, pursuing a master’s of arts in print and multimedia journalism as well as an intern at WBUR for the show Here & Now.  Prior to starting at Emerson, she worked as a reporter at two newspapers in RI.  In addition, Cassidy has been babysitting for 11 years.  She currently works three days a week as an after-school nanny and has two other weekly babysitting jobs and other occasional sitting gigs in the area (including for the Ware family). She adores children and is excited to start filling in at the nursery!

Eileen Williams has been working with young children for almost 30 years.  In addition to many years of working directly with families in their home as a nanny/babysitter, she is also trained in the Montessori Method for Early Education and has taught as a lead teacher for 5 years in the classroom.  Eventually, she started a home-based daycare in Athens, GA that she operated for almost 3 years before deciding to move back to Boston.  Since August of last year, she has been team teaching in an infant classroom at a Reggio-Inspired Childcare Center.  She absolutely LOVES it – it’s been both inspiring and challenging!  She’s very excited to have the opportunity to spend time with some of the youngest members of our church as a substitute caregiver.  She looks forward to meeting everyone soon!
