Money is speech.
Corporations are people.

Supreme Court decisions have made both the law of the land. However, many groups are working here in Massachusetts to reverse the pernicious effects of these doctrines.

Learn about local initiatives to combat the corrupting influence of money in politics and advance the ideal of “one person, one vote” at a community meeting on Wednesday, April 19, 7-9 p.m. at Theodore Parker Church. The following organizations will present their views of the challenges we face, outline their strategies for action, and answer your questions: Greater Boston We The People MA; American Promise; Respresent.Us: Boston; and Voter Choice Massachusetts.

The UUA has selected “The Corruption of Our Democracy” as a 2016-2020 Congregational Study/Action Issue. Attend this educational event to learn what you can do to help to #DrainTheSwamp — starting in your own backyard.

Organized by the Economic Equity in Politics Certified Working Group of UU Mass Action and co-sponsored by the Theodore Parker Church Social Action Committee and Progressive West Roxbury/Roslindale.
