“Islam and the Beloved Community”
December 3 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pmfree
Samer Naseredden, MAS Youth Programs Director at the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center, will deliver the 4th annual Theodore Parker Lecture at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, in the Theodore Parker Church sanctuary. His topic is
“Islam and the Beloved Community.”
Naseredden is Muslim spiritual advisor at Northeastern University and Muslim co-chaplain at MIT.
The event will be followed by a reception in the adjacent parish hall.
The Theodore Parker Lectures were inaugurated in 2014 to honor the legacy of the Rev. Theodore Parker, the 19th century minister, abolitionist, theologian, and bold proponent of social justice for whom our church is named. The annual lectures feature talks by clerics, theologians, or activists whose work reflects Rev. Parker’s drive to bend the arc of the moral universe toward justice.
