Rev. Phyllis O’Connell is serving as interim minister at Theodore Parker Church for the 2012-2013 year while the church seeks a new permanent minister to replace Rev. Lillian G. Nye, whose decade of service ended in June 2012. Rev. O’Connell began her Interim Ministry at Theodore Parker on August 15, 2012, serving ¾-time and has accepted our invitation to serve a second year (2013-2014). Read more about Rev. O’Connell here.
The Standing Committee held a Congregational Forum on February 12, 2012, to discuss the transition process. There is an excellent protocol mapped out by the Unitarian Universalist Association to assist UU congregations in the process of ministerial transition. These methods and schedules will inform our process at Theodore Parker. For anyone who wants to read in greater detail, this information is available on the UUA website.

Ministerial Search
At the church’s annual meeting in June 2012, the congregation approved the creation of a Ministerial Search Committee to select a new permanent minister. The committee members are Jessica Basile, Nancy Dale, David Forsyth, Joel Neiditz, and Stänzi Royden.
The Ministerial Search Committee will work very closely and intensely for two years, 2012-2014, seeking a candidate for the permanent ministry to present to the congregation. To serve as a member of this Search Committee is a major commitment of time and energy on behalf of our community.
