Accessible Restroom Campaign Now Underway

We’re hoping for 100% participation in our effort to raise funds for an accessible restroom in the sanctuary foyer. Gifts received by May 15 will be matched two-to-one. You can even donate online. Details are here.

BYOC/T&B

Our almost-weekly Bring Your Own Coffee/Tea & Bible gatherings continue on Thursday mornings at 8 a.m. in the parish hall parlor. Join Rev. Anne in taking a closer look this spring at the biblical book of Genesis. On April 27, we will dive into Genesis, chapters 21-23 which cover, among other things, the testing of Abraham. Many of you may know that in Islam, Ishmael is the son who is at risk, not Isaac.

Game Night, Friday, April 28, 6 p.m. in the Parlor

All are welcome to join the Theodore Parker Church families for Game Night on Friday, April 28, starting at 6 p.m. in the parish hall — a fun way to spend some time together. We will be pooling cash for pizza,  and request that you bring drinks, desserts, and/or other snacks. We hope to see many of you there!

Wednesday Meditation Group

The church meditation group will meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. The next session is April 26. We begin at 7 p.m. with a short poem, followed by silence (seated on chairs) for 25 minutes. On May 10, Brenda Rogers will lead a special meditation evening at Theodore Parker Church from 7 to 8:30 p.m.  Brenda has been practicing mindfulness meditation in the Buddhist Vipassana tradition for 12 years and is trained as a teacher in both MBSR (Mindfulness Based Meditation) and MSC (Mindful Self-Compassion).

Theodore Parker Church Food Drive, May 7

While many of our members and friends will participate in Project Bread’s annual Walk for Hunger, the Religious Exploration program will lead the congregation in a food drive for Rose’s Bounty, the food pantry at the Stratford Street Church.  Please bring non-perishable items to the service that day. Most needed are: canned tuna, pasta sauce, rice, beans (canned or dry), and canned vegetables (corn and beans in particular).
