Reframing the Aftermath of Failure

Five years ago, the Boston Marathon was disrupted by bombings. Rev. Anne spoke on the Sunday following: “We have been reminded this week of the imperfect among us, of the failure of human nature to live in love. We have been reminded of the tragedy of our potential to do harm to each other.” We struggle still, as evidenced by this week’s tragic shootings in Florida, not to mention continuing tragedies on the world stage.

What does it mean to fail ourselves and/or each other? And, how might experiences of not succeeding as we had hoped encourage our capacity for moving forward?
