The Theodore Parker Church Religious Education program is a parent-run cooperative with a professional director. The classes are small with activities and the arts incorporated into each session. In addition to our Nursery (3 months to three years), we have a Pre-Kindergarten/ Kindergarten class, a 1st 2nd 3rd grade class, and a 4th, 5th and 6th grade class. Children’s Chapel for this age group is led by Mary Rogers, our Director of Religious Education on the Sundays that the children are not in church. We alternate classes with group activities for the entire Religious Education community. This year we will emphasize our Jewish and Christian heritage as part of a three-year cycle. We have celebrated Rosh Hashanah and built a sukkah. We will have a Halloween party, celebrate the fruits of our earth and hold an intergenerational holiday pageant with our Jr. Choir and Youth Orchestra.

Our 7th and 8th graders are participating in Our Whole Lives, a year-long sexuality and ethics curriculum. Our Senior Youth are involved in a wide variety of activities, including leading worship, serving at Rosie’s Lunch Place, going to movies and white water rafting.

Mary Rogers is the Director of Religious Education.
