Weather has dominated the news of late – wet weather. Even as the effects ofHurricane Harvey continue to challenge the southwest, Irma is arriving in the southeast regions. It’s ironic, isn’t it, that water is so much a part of our reconnecting this coming Sunday when it has created such devastation in so many places. We must be mindful of that this week as we pour our summer gifts into a common bowl. I was reading the blog post of the Senior Minister from Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church in Houston, who describes her home and her neighbor’s being the only two on her block not to have flooded. Still, she is unable to return, holing up in a nearby Best Western until the nearby waters recede. In the beauty of our late summer New England, we are reminded of the reality that life is ever both blessing and challenge.
