SUMMARY:Theodore Parker Church Winter Fair
DESCRIPTION:Our third annual Winter Fair is just around the corner. Get your creative juices flowing and let us know how you might help out. We’ll need baked goods and new jewelry to pass along; cards and hats and jellies\, and more! We’re excited to make this seasonal experience a fun and energized event for our TPC folks and especially the community at large. Contact Diane Issa to get involved.  And\, of course\, be sure to come and bring your friends for a unique opportunity to take care of your holiday gift shopping AND support the church.

Black Nativity retells the Christmas story through Gospel music\, blues\, and African-inspired dance. Tickets are still available at emersonparamount.com. \nBarry Gaither\, founder and director of the National Center of Afro-American Artists\, will join us for a reception in the lounge at the Paramount at 2:15 p.m. to share the history of Black Nativity in Boston and how the show is mounted every year entirely with local adults and children. Click here for more details\, or contact Claire Barker\, especially if you’re coming to the 2:15 reception.    \n“Enfolding us in its joyously affirmative embrace\, Black Nativity simply lifts the spirit\, in every sense of that word.” — Boston Globe

SUMMARY:A Series of Conversations: True Stories about Race
DESCRIPTION:We offer our continuing series\, “True Stories about Race\,” in partnership with Temple Hillel B’nai Torah. This series urges us to share stories that have moved us\, as stories bring about the possibility of reconciliation through the creation of empathy. In a series of monthly sessions\, we seek out\, share\, and listen to true stories of what it means\, or has meant\, to be black or brown in America. The format is a discussion based on stories that have moved us personally\, facilitated by Josh Frank\, a former teacher and administrator in racially diverse school districts and a member of a local synagogue. The series meets on the third Saturday of the month from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m. in the parlor. The next session is December 16. No RSVP or preparation necessary. If you have questions\, contact Mark Bauer or Josh Frank.
