In the famous piece of scripture known as the Magnificat, Mary cries, “My soul magnifies the Lord.” In her powerful book Emergent Strategy, healer and activist Adrienne Maree Brown tells us “what you pay attention to grows.” and reminds us that change is fractal: what happens on the smallest scale affects the large scale. What are we magnifying or growing with our souls and our attention? And could we affect large scale change by further embodying our values?
