Diana’s List, a Middle East advocacy committee of Theodore Parker Church
Members of Theodore Parker Church have a long history of advocacy and education regarding the various conflicts in the Middle East. One of the long-term leaders of that work has been a congregant name Diana Digges, who lived and worked as a journalist in Egypt, learned Arabic, and developed a strong commitment to human rights advocacy in the region. That commitment led her to develop a broad network of international friendships/relationships, of which TPC was part. Diana passed away in November 2022 after a lengthy illness, leaving a huge void in our community.

When, in the wake of the October 2023 attacks on Israel by Hamas, Israel launched a campaign of vicious reprisals against the civilian population in Gaza, TPC members joined the interfaith movement working for a ceasefire and a just peace in Gaza and all of historic Palestine. At that time, we decided to name the committee doing that work “Diana’s List” in honor of the many years of work of Diana Digges to educate and sensitize our community to human rights challenges across the Middle East and the world.

Diana’s List has been active since October 2023, educating TPC members and the wider community about the situation in Gaza and the role of our government in perpetuating the crisis. Public witness by Diana’s List reflects the opinions of its members. If you wish to become involved in the work of Diana’s List, contact any member of the committee or e-mail us at dianaslist8@gmail.com .
