Black Nativity with the UU Urban Ministry

December 10, 2017 @ 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Join the UU Urban Ministry for the 3:30 p.m. matinee of Black Nativity, Langston Hughes’ gospel play of joy, hope, and liberation at the Paramount Theater. Black Nativity retells the Christmas story through Gospel music, blues, and African-inspired dance. Tickets are still available at emersonparamount.com.

Barry Gaither, founder and director of the National Center of Afro-American Artists, will join us for a reception in the lounge at the Paramount at 2:15 p.m. to share the history of Black Nativity in Boston and how the show is mounted every year entirely with local adults and children. Click here for more details, or contact Claire Barker, especially if you’re coming to the 2:15 reception.

“Enfolding us in its joyously affirmative embrace, Black Nativity simply lifts the spirit, in every sense of that word.” — Boston Globe
