Join Green Line X-Tension for an evening of vocal jazz, with special guests Dave Howard on guitar and Steve Gutherz on piano, in the sanctuary on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. They will share songs from their upcoming EP Green Line X-Tension, as well as new material. $15 suggested donation at the door. The vocal group Green Line X-Tension grew out of Point of Departure (POD,) a student-led vocal jazz ensemble at Berklee College of Music. Michael J. Johnson (baritone/director/arranger), a Berklee professor, has served as faculty advisor for POD since 2012. In late 2016, Johnson decided to form a vocal group to perform and record his vocal arrangements and compositions. After recruiting his wife and fellow Berklee professor Ani Johnson (alto), he called on current and former members of POD, and several stellar vocalists answered his call: Nicole Roberts (soprano), Sarah Bernadette (soprano 2/alto), Robert Pate (tenor), Zach Ivy (baritone), and Skip Lewan (bass).
