Social Action Committee Potluck: Racial Equity in the Boston Public Schools

January 11, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Your Social Action Committee will sponsor another in its series of Community Potlucks on Friday, January 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the parish hall parlor. The purpose of these potlucks is to help build community in our congregation around the “reaching out” aspect of our collective mission, and to connect it to our efforts to “reach in.”

Access to education is a critical issue for all youth and parents in the city. For those of us convinced of the “inherent worth of every person,” public support for an effective and equitable education system should be a priority, regardless of whether we have (or will have) children in the schools.

On January 11, we’ll break bread and create a circle for a facilitated discussion of education as a racial and social justice issue. Bring some food to share if you can. Childcare will be provided — email us by January 7 if you’ll be bringing children to the event.
