Tracing Homelands: Israel, Palestine, and the Claims of Belonging

May 20 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Author Linda Dittmar reflects on her quest to rediscover some of the inconvenient truth that underlie the Israel-Palestine conflict. The author grew up in historic Palestine and then spent her adolescence and young adulthood in post-1948 Israel. The book narrates a painful process of “uncovering inconvenient truths about an embattled Israeli-Palestinian history that is often buried in silence.

Join us for a thought-provoking discussion on the complex issues surrounding Israel and Palestine. Our event will delve into the deep-seated claims of belonging in the region, exploring the historical, cultural, and political dimensions at play. Hosted at the Theodore Parker Church, this in-person event promises to be enlightening and engaging. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of this important topic. The Community Church of Boston, First Baptist Church of Jamaica Plain, and the Justice Commission of First Church in Jamaica Plain UU are co-sponsoring this event.

The event is free. Donations will not be requested. Please register on eventbrite if you plan to attend: https://bit.ly/3QmHqlE

Thanks to our friends at Community Church of Boston, the event also will be available on Zoom and on the CCB Youtube channel for people who prefer not to attend in person.
