While the government blames trans people for everything from the government shutdown to mass shootings, the impact to the trans community, their loved ones, and allies, is incredibly painful — as intended. This is not, however, to suggest we find ourselves without hope. Unitarian Universalists are assured, in our Universalist heritage, of the beautiful diversity of humankind and its crucial importance to our shared existence. Today, we explore what we can be grateful for: our transgender and non-binary beloveds, this and other allied places of safety, and an ongoing commitment to our shared survival.
Rev DL Helfer is non-binary, and in general avoids boxes which trap them into “this” or “that.” Instead, they search for possibility, for deeper truths, and share those glimmers of possibility with others. Rev. DL is TPC’s Affiliated Minister.
Children’s programming for elementary school aged children will be available during this service. Childcare for children under 4 will be available in our nursery.
