The Spirituality of Aging

Emerging from the Gerotranscendence: Spirituality of Aging class led by Rebecca Priest this winter, this service will explore the themes of what it means to age. Three of the class participants will share testimonials reflecting on the cosmic, spiritual, and social dimensions of aging. During the service, anyone identifying as an elder will be invited to participate in a ritual honoring elders, and participants will be invited to reflect on what they are laying down and what they are embracing during this time in their life. We invite people of all ages to join us as we celebrate the elders among our congregation and consider what lessons we get from a multigenerational community when we have the opportunity to share wisdom across life’s many stages.

This week, we will have two age-separate religious education classes for children: Chalice Circle (K-3rd graders), and Justice Seekers (4th-7th graders). Both will begin after our Time for All Ages. Childcare for children under 4 is available in our nursery during the whole service.
